GIG HARBOR – All traffic on eastbound State Route 16 will be diverted through the toll plaza during early hours next Tuesday and possibly Wednesday for maintenance on the electronic toll equipment.

Between midnight and 4 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 and Wednesday, July 2, crews will divert all traffic through the toll booths while maintenance occurs on the camera equipment over the electronic toll lanes. In addition, the 24th Street on-ramp to eastbound SR 16 will be closed between 8 and 11 p.m. the same dates.

Crews anticipate completing the work Tuesday, but could continue Wednesday if inclement weather interferes.

Vehicles equipped with Good To Go! transponders can use any of the open toll booth lanes to the left. Good To Go! customers do not have to stop at the toll booths, but can simply drive through and have their transponders automatically read. Drivers without a Good To Go! account must stop at a toll booth displaying the ‘cash’ sign. Once through the toll booths, traffic will flow onto the new bridge and drivers may change lanes on the bridge.
