BRINNON – A dump truck fatally struck a flagger this morning in a work zone on US 101 in Jefferson County.

Details of the incident were not immediately available. Currently, both directions of US 101 are blocked near milepost 310, about a mile south of Brinnon. Washington State Patrol is investigating.

The flagger was working for Lakeside Industries of Port Angeles on a WSDOT paving project stretching from Mason County into Jefferson County (milepost 283.83 to 321.70).
