MOUNT VERNON – WSDOT bridge maintenance crews will close lanes on the I-5 Skagit River Bridge in Mount Vernon this weekend for a routine maintenance inspection. This routine maintenance will help protect and preserve the life of the bridge.

Lane Closures

Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22 - Crews will close the right lane of I-5 in each direction across the Skagit River Bridge from 5 a.m. until approximately 10 a.m.

While crews do not expect long delays, drivers should plan ahead, leave early and be prepared for minor delays.

WSDOT inspects these bridges at least once every two years. During the inspection, crews check the structural condition of the bridge, recommend repairs and determine if further investigation is needed.
