BELLINGHAM –Crews will close several I-5 on- and off-ramps in Bellingham next week to pave them. Crews will also intermittently close lanes of I-5 to seal cracks.

The ramp closure schedule is as follows:

Monday June 16

  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Lakeway northbound off-ramp
  • 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Iowa southbound off-ramp

Tuesday June 17

  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Iowa northbound on- and off-ramps

Wednesday June 18

  • 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Lakeway northbound off-ramp
  • 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Iowa southbound off-ramp

Thursday June 19

  • 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Iowa northbound on- and off-ramps

Signs will be posted to detour drivers around the closed ramps. The paving is weather dependent, and the ramp closures may be delayed if it rains.

Crews will also need to close lanes from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. June 16-18 to seal cracks on I-5 between Samish Way and Sunset Drive. Work will start in the southbound right lane, and crews will intermittently close lanes throughout the project area.

This work is part of the ongoing I-5 construction to replace broken concrete panels between Samish Way and Sunset Drive, smooth rough bridge transitions and pave ramps. More project details can be found at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/I5/36thStToSlaterRdRepairs.
