SEATTLE – WSDOT crews plan a series of night lane closures on northbound and southbound I-5 through South Everett on Tuesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 4. Crews will also conduct an overnight rolling slowdown of northbound I-5 on Thursday, June 5.

• Tuesday, June 3 – Crews will close two lanes of northbound I-5 at the 112th Street Bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., overnight to remove and install guardrail.
• Wednesday, June 4 – Crews will close two southbound lanes and the Silver Lake rest area from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., overnight to remove and install guardrail.
• Thursday, June 5 - Crews will conduct a rolling slowdown on northbound I-5 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., overnight for sign removal.

During the rolling slowdown, state troopers will slow vehicles down to 20 miles per hour. The work is part of Sound Transit’s S Everett Freeway Station and park and ride.

The closures are part of a larger project that includes widening 112th Street over I-5 to five lanes and adding wider sidewalks and approaches to the new bridge.

The I-5 South Everett Freeway Station project is primarily funded by Sound Transit. WSDOT and Sound Transit have teamed up with the city of Everett to remove and replace the 112th Street SE bridges over I-5 with new, wider bridges as part of this project. When the project is complete, buses, carpools and vanpools will be able to go directly from the I-5 HOV lanes to a new 400-stall park-and-ride lot in the I-5 median at 112th Street SE. A new access road from 112th Street SE will allow single-occupant vehicles to reach the park-and-ride. For more information, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/Projects/i5/SouthEverett.
