SEATTLE – WSDOT Ferries Division is adding sailings to the Port Townsend-Keystone ferry schedule beginning Sunday, May 11 and continuing through the peak summer season until October 13. The additional sailings are scheduled for Thursday through Sunday evenings and Monday mornings to help accommodate heavy peak season traffic. Vehicle and passenger capacity is temporarily reduced until new vessels are built for the route. The route will be served by one 50-car vessel, the Steilacoom II, sailing every 90 minutes.
In addition to the current schedule, WSDOT/WSF will add:
-
One round trip on Thursday evenings
-
Two round trips on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings
-
One round trip early Monday mornings
Beginning Sunday, May 11, the Port Townsend/Keystone daily sailing schedule will be:

This spring the Washington State Legislature authorized $357,000 to provide additional service on the Port Townsend/Keystone route. By implementing extra sailings four nights per week, WSDOT is able to extend the extra service from May 11 until October 13. WSDOT worked closely with local communities to develop a schedule which would meet the needs of both visitors and residents. The schedule is also designed to allow three full nights of tie-up time (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) for vessel crews to conduct ongoing maintenance of the ferry to help ensure reliable service.
A complete sailing schedule, including the additional trips, is posted on our Web site at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries.
