HOQUIAM – The US 101 Simpson Avenue Bridge re-opened to traffic after a 10-week closure early this morning following much fanfare and a local celebration yesterday.

WSDOT joined the City of Hoquiam to rejoice in the re-opening of this bridge. The end of this 10-week closure marks the completion of the bulk of the work to be done on the $9.2 million dollar project that upgrades the major electrical and mechanical components of the bridge. The project is on track to finish on time and on budget.

WSDOT crews removed the detour early this morning, and the bridge was open to traffic before the morning commute. One-way westbound traffic across the Riverside Bridge was restored.
