OLYMPIA – Slide and drainage repair requires intermittent traffic delays on southbound US 101 at the SR 8 interchange near Mud Bay this weekend.
Sunday, April 13, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., drivers can expect periodic lane closures on US 101 southbound to allow trucks to access the work site and move equipment. WSDOT crews will repair and re-establish the drainage system that was damaged during the December storms.
Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., crews close the left lane of eastbound SR 8 in the same area. Crews will temporarily remove the guardrail on the overpass, allowing trucks and an excavator to clear slide debris below, and rebuild the slope with rock to stabilize it.
Drivers can call 511 or visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/ for traffic updates.
