Crews to Close One Lane in Each Direction between Rush Road and the 13th Street Interchange

CHEHALIS – Motorists should expect alternating single lane closures on I-5 north and southbound in Lewis county between Rush Road (milepost 72) and the 13th Street Interchange (milepost 76). Closures are will take place between 9 p.m. on Monday evening April 28, and 3 a.m. Tuesday morning, April 29.

These lane closures are necessary while WSDOT work cress install traffic data collection sensors in the freeway. In addition, these closures are required for the safety of the work crews and motorists traveling through the work zone. This work is dry-weather dependent.

Advanced warning signs will be posted during the lane closures. Motorists are asked to please pay attention to the warning signs. Motorists are also reminded that all traffic fines are doubled within a construction work zone when workers are present (RCW 46.61.527).

Construction of the I-5, Rush Road to 13th Street project began in 2007. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2009. For more information on this project, visit the project Web page at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/i5/RushRd13thSt.
