Ferry Schedule is Easy this Holiday Season

SEATTLE - Washington State Ferries customers traveling over the holidays will have plenty of opportunity to get to their destination as a Tuesday holiday generally means that travelers will depart early, allowing for a long three or four day celebration.

The ferry system will add extra sailings on some routes with expected back-ups just prior and after the holidays to help alleviate traffic.

The Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes

The Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes will be operating on a regular schedule both Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25. There will be an extra sailing from Anacortes to Lopez Island at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26 and at 3:35 p.m. from Lopez to Anacortes.

On New Year's Day, the Anacortes/San Juan Islands vessels will operate on a normal Tuesday sailing schedule.

Port Townsend/Keystone Passenger-Only route

The Port Townsend/Keystone route will operate on a regular Tuesday sailing schedule on both December 25 and January 1, 2008. The special Seattle to Port Townsend passenger ferry schedule will also operate on regular schedule for both holidays.

Mukilteo/Clinton

The Mukilteo/Clinton route will operate on a regular Monday schedule on December 24 and on a holiday schedule on Tuesday, December 25. This route will also operate on a holiday schedule on Tuesday, January 1, 2008

Edmonds/Kingston

On Monday, December 24, the Edmonds/Kingston route will be on a regular sailing schedule. On Tuesday, December 25, and Tuesday, January 1, 2008, this route will operate on a holiday schedule.

Seattle/Bainbridge

The Seattle/Bainbridge route will operate on a Monday sailing schedule on December 24. On Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1, this route will operate on a Holiday sailing schedule.

Seattle/Bremerton

This route will operate on a regular Tuesday schedule on both December 25 and January 1, 2008.

Passenger-only service

There will be no Seattle/Vashon passenger-only service on December 25 or January 1, 2008.

Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth

On Thursday, December 20 and Friday, December 21, the 124-car M/V Issaquah will switch to the number 1 position in the evening to assist in carrying late night traffic. On Monday, December 24, this route will operate on a regular schedule but there will be an extra sailing at 1:30 pm from Vashon and 1:55 p.m. from Fauntleroy.

On Tuesday, December 25, this route will be on a regular schedule. On Monday, December 31, 2007, the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route will be on a regular schedule. On Tuesday, January 1, 2008, this route will operate on a regular Tuesday schedule.

Point Defiance/Tahlequah

December 24 -25, and on New Year's Day, this route will operate on a holiday schedule, which provides extra service in the mid-day.
