Washington State Department of Transportation and a committee of stakeholders will be reviewing and updating the 2003 School Administrator's Guide to School Walk Routes and Student Pedestrian Safety.

Following the 2009 legislative session, there are new requirements to include in the guide. The update will also include best practices in the areas of education, engineering, enforcement, encouragement with regard to pedestrian safety near schools.
