This week's stimulus update 

More than 80% of Recovery Act highway projects now complete – WSDOT and local governments have now completed more than 80% of the projects receiving almost $500 million in Federal Highway Administration stimulus funding.

Local governments have completed 144 projects and WSDOT has completed 41, including two Recovery Act-funded bucket programs that installed rumble strips and installed and upgraded cable median barriers on urban and rural highways at various locations throughout the state.

Six new projects were recently completed, including two sections of the North Creek Trail and improvements to the Wahkiakum County ferry terminal on the Columbia River. All FHWA Recovery Act-funded state and local projects are now either completed, under way, or have been awarded to contractors.

Everett – Annual Asphalt Overlay
Mountlake Terrace – 230th Street Reconstruction

*Highway project counts and funding were adjusted slightly following the transfer of certified projects from FHWA to FTA. Two completed safety programs are now counted as projects.
The Recovery Act highway project list has updated project status.

Recovery Act reporting updates – WSDOT is preparing the next quarterly report to the federal Office of Management and Budget on Recovery Act funding, which will be published on the website on January 30, 2011.
