A class is defined as one of the 3 mandated. The goal of the classes is to provide participants an understanding of WSDOT policies, programs and practices that support our diverse workforce. At Washington State Ferries, WSDOT offers an 8 hour new employee class that encompasses all three modules, entitled Respectful Workplace Training.
Advanced Diversity classes in areas of need, such as, conflict resolution, interviewing, and communication effectiveness when there are individual and cultural differences are offered upon request.
Note: Assistance and support for training attendance is needed by WSDOT management in order to fulfill the mandatory training requirements. Appointing Authorities may be notified of employees who are registered but who fail to show up for classes, and who do not cancel in a timely manner.
