Transportation System Technician (TST) Testing Information

Welcome to the Transportation System Technician (TST) testing information site. Our Transportation System Technicians are a vital part of the agency. In order to ensure our employees provide quality public service in a safe and efficient manner, we provide a comprehensive test for all qualified applicants. Below you will find a list of study materials you should look over before testing for any WSDOT TST exam. This material is provided 30 days before the exam. You should expect to put in a fair amount of study time to be adequately prepared.

Exams are comprised of 50 multiple choice and some short answer questions. They cover the areas of NEC, MUTCD, Electrical WAC/RCW, Standard Plans and Contract Plans, Safety, Theory and Equipment. You will be given two hours to finish your exam. You will be provided with some reference manuals and a formula sheet during the exam.
