WSDOT is seeking a Property & Acquisitions Specialist (PAS) 2 or 3 (depending on experience) to appraise all types of real property’s and assist with conducting investigations of market supply and demand.
Position Profile: Join a successful Property Acquisition team and appraise all types of real property or interests in real property (e.g. easements, permits) to be acquired or sold by the Department of Transportation. You will assist with conducting investigations of market supply and demand, including prices, costs, interests, and rentals; analyzing impacts of Department’s construction plans on private property; analyzing land title reports; applying before and after appraisal methods for partial taking.
WSDOT is seeking candidates who will successfully:
• Gather and analyze field data on projects.
• Generate appraisal reports on all types of real estate needed for transportation purposes.
• Responsible for making estimates for budget funding purposes.
• Capable of identifying and quantifying damages to real estate.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
Desired qualifications include:
• A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, or related field and two (2) years experience in real estate appraisal which includes eminent domain appraisal work. .
• Washington State License of Appraisal certification.
• Knowledgeable of all standards of Federal and State laws related to appraisals.
• Experienced in writing appraisal types of real estate interests in accordance with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP)
• Familiarity with appraisal methods and techniques necessary to accurately and defensibly determine market value.
• Valid Washington State driver's license.
Compensation: $39,516 - $58,656, annually depending on qualifications.
